A handmade, accordion style book with illustrated cards. Based on and inspired by the 1892 publication 'Sea Phantoms: or Legends and Superstitions of the Sea and Sailors of All Lands and at All Times' by U.S. Navy Lieutenant Fletcher S. Bassett, which is referenced through the internet archive. Bassett discusses the legends and superstitions of the sea; I chose six of these on which to focus and illustrate as seen below.
